Before the Show at Big Game Studios, I had a couple minutes to sit down with Madcap, and asked them some questions.  Here they are.

For those who don’t know…tell me about madcap, what the gist of it?

-Johnny- we play rock n’ roll…from the heart, we’re just a punk rock band, man. We just put out a new album called UNDER SUSPICION, probably the best album we’ve ever done.

You guys changed the line up a while ago…

-Lee- It was defiantly needed, we were just kinda growing apart, musically, and as a band…UNDER SUSPICION is all four of US, before that we had another guy singing, and playing guitar, BUT now we have Ace. We’re all on the same page; we work well together

Yup…Yeah… yep… -Johnny- I just got here from San Francisco…but yeah I live in LA.

Is Madcap a full time job for you guys?

-Johnny- Yeah, Pretty much. We don’t really have times for jobs, but we don’t have any money…basically you know the deal.  We try to be on tour as much as we possibly can.

What are you guys listening to right now?

-All in 4 in near perfect unison-Elvis Costello!  -Jake- I just got the Ganja Box Set from Trojan…all my favorite reggae artists singing about how much they love marijuana!

-Ace- I really like the new IMAROBOT album, hot hot heat, CAN”T FORGET THE CLASH, the new bayside album…we listen to a spectrum.

Favorite Clash Album…

“London Calling” said Ace, Jake, and Lee. “Sandinista!” says Johnny, then adds “no I like The Clash album, what’s it called, the one with out Mick Jones.  “Who says that!” Ace says [we all look at the ground for a second to regain our composure]

My Aim is True. Costello I heard you just met Elvis? THAT’S RIGHT! FOR THE RECORD, I ACE JUST MET ELVIS COSTELLO- he told me how much of a fan of mine he is…. I’m kidding, BIG JOKE.

So, Johnny- I heard you played a show naked!?

Where are you getting this…what are you some kind of lawyer? That was a long time ago –Lee- That’s how we initiated him into the band, he was the only one initiated. –Johnny- it was crazy I couldn’t believe I did it.

Who makes better chicken, roscoes or zanku?

WHOA! You know about Zanku, that’s Glendale shit… I’m gonna have to go with Zanku, cause of Glendale, and I’ve never been to Roscoes. Those guys know how to cook.

How many tours have to guys been on?

Too many, and Not Enough. A LOT!  We’ve been to Canada, we’re going to the UK, for the first time in May. On something called the Victory Invasion Tour with Glasseater and Bayside for 14 days, from the 9^th to the 22^nd

Any Place you guys are dying to play?

Japan, THE WORLD, the rest of Europe, Fresno! Making that dream come true tonight.

How long have you guys been on victory?

About 8 months. Our first record with them, Under Suspicion just came out last week.

How long did it take you guys to write, record, and get it pressed?

About 6 months, we started writing then, went out on tour with The Dropkick Murphy’s for a week, and we came back, and we wrote away.

Where can everyone buy the new record, Under Suspicion?

In stores everywhere, Tower Records, www.interpunk.com Virgin Superstores, Ameoba Records, even some Bests Buys…BUY IT !!!!! it will be released later this year on Vinyl.
